It has been a brilliant restart after the Lunar New Year for P3 following their impressive display of a Lion Dance for the school to celebrate! We have now completed Fantastic Mr Fox and are composing our own written versions of the story, using all of the techniques practiced so far. The students have been incorporating structure in terms of a clear beginning, middle and end, focusing on an introduction, build-up, problem, resolution and ending.

The P3’s have completed our place value unit for the term, finishing with place value in money, as well as adding and subtracting amounts. Next week, we are revisiting addition and subtraction for the Spring Term beginning with adding pairs of 2-digit numbers and adding two amounts of money.

In Science we consolidated our knowledge of Rocks with a fun quiz! Next week, we will begin our investigation into Fossils and discover the contribution to science of the great 19th century fossil hunter Mary Anning. Our exploration into the Rainforest Topic is continuing with the Understory Layer. The P3s have started to create their own Rainforest Flipbooks to show off their knowledge.
